You will need to extract from your old DVD drive the *key* prior to installation.
These are brand new Samsung MS28 Xbox 360 drives and not refurbished units. If you have damaged you DVD drive trying to install a chip, or your old drive has just died, these brand new Samsung MS28 DVD drives will solve your problem. With Xbox 360 you can't just take out the old drive and plug in this new one. You will have to extract the drive key from your old Xbox 360 DVD drive and flash that key into this new Samsung MS28 drive. This is not a simple procedure, and should only be performed by people that know what they are doing with Xbox 360 DVD drives and flashing.
